Chasing Management Techniques

Every management technique suffers from its own law of diminishing returns. The more that a technique is used, the less effective it becomes. The originality of a technique is often enough to get positive results from personnel and to inspire duplication. By the time that a technique has become popular, its marginal benefits over any other technique have typically become negligible. Late comers to the technique usually are dissatisfied in the results and soon are pursuing the next touted technique.

The best techniques are those that are custom fitted to the manager, the personnel, the environment and the time. Although even these techniques need to be reviewed and adjusted over time, the customization in itself provides for a longer productive life-span for the technique.

MCS can tailor management techniques to the manager and the personnel that are being managed.
